What if a loved one received a life-altering spiritual message just before a major surgery? In our latest episode, our guest shares the emotional turmoil and unexpected revelations surrounding her son Brandon’s brain surgery. As she recounts the moments leading up to the operation, we glimpse into their profound conversation about a spiritual message that offered solace amidst their fears. Brandon’s journey is not just a medical one—it is filled with spiritual nuance and the indomitable spirit of a mother’s love as they face the harsh realities of recovery together.
Join us as we navigate the challenging aftermath of Brandon’s surgery, including the hospital infection that extended his stay and complicated his healing process. Our guest speaks candidly about the financial and emotional strain, painting a vivid picture of her resolve to support her son through rehabilitation in the Bay Area. This story of resilience and the unyielding bond between mother and son is both heart-wrenching and inspiring, as we hear about Brandon's longing to step back into a world that feels just out of reach. Listen in to explore themes of hope, determination, and the transformative power of family support during life’s most trying times.
So this is part six. So you know, because he had the brain surgery, he had to be in a special unit. They kept him in a coma, you know, just to help with the brain swelling, and you know they eventually woke him up two days later. But you know he had brain surgery, so he wasn't his self, he was say weird, quirky things, and you know he was just not, you know, brandon. He wasn't Brandon at all.
Speaker 1:And I remember before the surgery he said if I'm gonna come out disabled, I'd rather just not make it. I said no, don't worry. But I also remember when, right before he went surgery, I was in his room with him and we were talking and I said you heard a spiritual message, didn't you? And he said yes. And I said so, you know, it's going to be okay. And he said yes, and I knew it, because you know he has the gift, just like I have the gift, most of my family members have the gift. And I thought that he got the message of don't worry, you know your surgery will be fine and you're gonna live just fine and go on with your life. Well, he didn't tell me what the message was, but but I remember when he woke up he was almost like shocked. I didn't know if he was in shock because he just had brain surgery or he didn't think he was supposed to wake up, but I kind of got this feeling like he did not expect to wake up from the surgery although he wasn't himself his self and what it just kind of struck me like what's going on, because I was always trying to be tuned in and I just didn't know what was going on with Brandon. But I I knew that he had his surgery. Then he moved out of his room into a room where they keep like four patients and you know all of them had some type of brain surgery, a shunt or something, and you know he had ended up getting one of those hospital infections. I think it was worse, I can't remember.
Speaker 1:So he had to stay there for quite some time and he got tired of being in a room with the same people. You know he was slowly getting his faculties back and you know he says I want my own room and I said you can't yet until this infection's gone. Now you know I've been up there this whole time and you know soon I was gonna have to go back and make some money and see you know, see clients, you know to keep my business going. And I felt like I really am going to need the money because I'm going to have to take care of my son. He can't work right now. My son did construction. He was successful, he was actually managing in construction and you know he made a good living. I said now I'm going to have to take care of my boy and make sure he's okay and I may have to move and get an apartment up in the Bay Area because he was going to do his physical rehab up in the Bay Area Also.
Speaker 1:Well, what ended up happening is he had this infection and they would get him up and to walk and he had looked out the window. I remember him looking out the window and you know it's beautiful in Palo Alto. It is. It's a beautiful place, it's a very wealthy place. You know tech is in that area, you know, so there's a lot of money there. And he just said I just want to go out in the world again. And I just had no idea that he was not going to go out in the world again. I just had no idea.
